Who will receive the third stimulus check just approved by the Senate?

Congress is striving to pass the new relief bill before March 14, and the House aims to send it to Joe Biden, for his signature, this week. Who will receive the third stimulus check just approved by the Senate?

The third stimulus check, included in the American rescue Plan, will begin to be distributed as soon as President Biden signs the package and it becomes law

This Saturday, a week after House passed the bill, the Senate approved the stimulus package of $ 1.9 billion, and now House will vote on this amended version and aims to pass it on Tuesday.

This is why it is very likely that a third stimulus check of $ 1,400 will begin to be distributed in the next few days since President Biden has said that he wants the aid to arrive in March.

Who is eligible to receive the check?

Adults who earned $ 75,000 or less in their most recent tax year will receive a total of $ 1,400 from the third stimulus check, as will married couples who earned $ 150,000 or less and heads of household who earned $ 112,500 or less.

Adults who earned more than $ 75,000, but less than $ 80,000; married couples who earned more than $ 150,000, but less than $ 160,000; and heads of household who earned more than $ 112,500, but less than $ 120,000, will also be eligible to receive the check, but it will be for less than $ 1,400.

Parents will also receive an additional check for $ 1,400 for each dependent claimed on their tax returns. Unlike what happened with the previous stimulus checks, all dependents will be eligible, including college students and some people with disabilities, and not just children under the age of 17.

Undocumented immigrants are not eligible to receive the third stimulus check but households in which one of the adults has legal status would be eligible to receive at least one check, as reported by Vox. US-born children will also be eligible even if one of their parents does not have an SSN.

It should be noted that adults who earned more than $ 80,000, married couples who earned more than $ 160,000, and heads of household who earned more than $ 120,000 will not be eligible to receive the third stimulus check.
