Here's everything you need to know about it.
The rapper was always very open about his political preferences, and last year when he declared that his ambitions included being President of the United States, no one took it seriously… but he was not kidding.
This year, he became a third-party candidate, and he had the most unorthodox campaign ever seen. Here are 5 things you didn’t know about Kanye West’s run for President.
1-Not a new idea
When people heard Kanye saying he was going to run for President, no one really believed him but it wasn’t a new idea. He has been thinking about it for at least five years, as he talked about it in the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. "And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president." said the rapper.
2-He said he wanted to run for President in 2024
Last year the rapper said that his campaign would concentrate on creating more jobs for the American citizens. He also said, "When I run for president in 2024, we would've created so many jobs that I'm not going to run, I'm going to walk."
3-The fourth of July declaration
He made the headlines again by declaring on Twitter that he’d be running for President. Here’s his tweet: "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future."
4-Not a Trump guy anymore
A few days after his tweet he had his first interview. He’s always been a Trump supporter, but this year he changed his mind. "I am taking the red hat off, with this interview," he said. The rapper also shared his views about the COVID vaccine, Black Lives Matter, and other subjects.
5-The First Rally Campaign
Kanye West made his first and only presidential campaign rally in South Carolina in July. The rapper cried his eyes out while talking about the first time Kim Kardashian got pregnant. West said that they almost decided to have an abortion, but he had an enlightenment, and they changed their minds. Of course, it made the headlines worldwide, and people started to worry about Kanye West's health.
