Receiving the vaccine seems to be the only way that we can regain our normal life and, therefore, we should all be eager to get vaccinated. Just in case you need something extra to convince you, how Uber is making it even easier?
As part of the ongoing effort to get as many people as possible vaccinated against Covid-19 now that the vaccine is available to all adults, Uber has announced a new partnership with Walgreen's to make getting a vaccine even easier.
On April 30, Uber announced that you can now schedule a vaccine appointment at Walgreen's from inside the Uber app.
When you make the appointment through the app you can also schedule a ride to the appointment and Uber will take you there and back for free.
According to the most recent CDC data, more than 103 million people in the US are fully vaccinated and more than 146 million have received at least one dose.
Though that is almost 40% of U.S. adults, it's still short of the 70-85% vaccine rate that Dr. Anthony Fauci has said is needed to reach herd immunity.
The new program launched by Uber and Walgreen’s seeks to help raise the vaccination rate by removing obstacles many face trying to get there.
The new scheduling and free rides feature was presented as part of a suite of new features in the app, which includes, for example, the ability to rent a car through the app and having it brought right to your door.
If getting a ride to your appointment was a problem, it is no longer an excuse, so hit the app and move a step closer to recovering your normal life.
