Anthony Bodanza is a Youtuber, and he tells you how you could make $10,000 by cutting your own hair
He describes his video:
"Getting your haircut could be costing you hundreds of thousands of dollars!!!
In this video I show you how cutting my own hair will save me more than $10,000 in 12 years, and more than $100,000 in 40 years!
The average haircut in America for a guy costs $28. After tip, I round this up to around $33. I personally only would spend $15-$20 on a single haircut, because I am frugal and don't mind the retail chains like greatclips, etc. I also need to get my haircut twice a month because my hair grows fast! This means, the average month, I would spend $40 IF I went to get it cut somewhere else. I would also have to spend the time out of my busy day to do that as well.
What if there was a better way?
What if I learned to cut my own hair, and invested that $40 per month instead. That is what this video is all about! Investing $480 per year at the S&P 500's average annual return of 9% (actually 9.8%), how much would I be able to make?
Well, if you run the numbers, you'll have a little more than $10,000 in only 12 years, and more than $100,000 in only 34 years! Now it is important to note that these numbers do not account for inflation, which would reduce our annual return to 7%. But still, you reach $100,000 at 40 years, only investing $480 per year, or $40 per month. These numbers become even crazier if you use the average haircut price of $33, instead of my $20 haircuts.
Now obviously, cutting your own hair is not a skill that everyone has! That's why I end the video with a few tips to cutting your own hair:
Tip 1: Don't wear a shirt! The little hair clippings are way too itchy, and you can't wear that shirt again until it's washed. Plus, no one else is around anyways!
Tip 2: Take your time. The first couple times I cut my own hair it took me longer than an hour! This time, I was filming, and it only took my 7 minutes to do!
Tip 3: Just try it! Why not? What's holding you back? It's important to try new things and if you don't like it, you don't have to keep doing it!
This whole video was just to show that a few dollars each month will turn into a lot of money, and if you don't track your expenses and budget, you'll potentially lose out on hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars!
