The celebrity needs to start making payments ASAP.
The former star of Love & Hip Hop filed a lawsuit against 50 Cent in 2018. This was the result of him posting sexually explicit images of her on his Instagram account (15M followers at the time).
Lisa Bloom, celebrity attorney, and Mari said in a public conference that the lawsuit included her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad, who also had the graphic content before being posted by the rapper, who’s a close friend of Akbar.
On top of that, shortly after the photos were posted on Mari’s Instagram account after she claimed her ex had managed to get a hold of her account details and freely shared the sexual content which Mari would have never wanted the world to see. The images went viral super quickly and the public feud with 50 Cent later got her fired from Love & Hip Hop.
Abdul-Ahad argued that his phone was stolen one day before the images, and a short sex clip was posted on social media and explained that he had nothing to do with the content leaking out to the world.
Mari explained: “Recently, my social media was compromised by someone who I felt was deserving of my love and trust. That person proved to be untrustworthy and posted footage of what at the moment was private and sacred.”
Last year, a Los Angeles judge awarded 50 Cent with a legal victory in the case and ordered Mari to pay him just over $30,000 to cover part of his legal fees, which The Blast claimed had totaled to $160,000.
As of January 2020, The rapper declared the following: “To date, Mari has failed to pay a single dime to Jackson in satisfaction of the Judgment despite earning over $100,000 this past year. Her previous claims under oath that she is “broke” no longer ring true, and it is more clear than ever that she has no intention of paying her debts.” It is said that up to the date she hasn’t made a single payment.
