Two months ago IHOP cancelled its National Pancake Day promotion but the company has given people a chance to score an IOU for free pancakes. Can you already get our short stack?
The Covid 19 pandemic was the reason why many events were suspended in the last 12 months and IHOP's National Pancake Day was one of them. If you got your IOU coupon to score free pancakes now is the time to do so.
Most of us believed that by February, with the vaccine being distributed for a few months, life would have returned to normal. But the pandemic was still present and that is why IHop canceled National Pancake Day.
So his year, due to the risk of catching coronavirus, IHOP's National Pancake will be a little different, and even though the breakfast holiday was canceled for 2021, the promotion took place in an original way.
The difference this year was that, to respect social distance, instead of lining up at your local store for a free short stack, you got a chance to digitally line up for a free short stack in April.
"Rather than cancel the day completely during a time when everyone could use a little hoppiness, we decided to flip the day to a month-long event to give everyone the flexibility to enjoy a free Short Stack whenever they would like, while also supporting our national charity partner Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals," Johns said in a statement.
To score the IOU version of National Pancake Day, you had time till March 31 to sign up for the chain's MyHOP rewards and and get an IOU for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes in April.
So, if you signed up you can already score the free pancakes in-restaurant or on a to-go order placed through IHOP.com or the pancake chain’s mobile app.
However if you did not sign up in time to score the deal, there is still a chance for you to get free pancakes this month.
Those who did not register as MyHOP members can still get a free short stack in April with a minimum $10 purchase in restaurants or to-go by downloading a coupon at IHOP.com or the IHOP app.
