Creative ways of saving money while studying

We all go through the rite of passage of being a broke student. And we all deal with it in the best way possible. Here are some of the most creative saving ideas for you to get inspired.

When you don’t have a lot of money, you need to put your mind to work and find ways of making the most out of it. Here are some crazy ideas that might inspire you:

1-    Stock up on freebies

Two words: free samples. It sounds crazy, but that’s what this article is all about.
There are a lot of places that will give out free samples. Some companies even will send them to you if you email them.
You can also get them by going to your favorite department store and check if there are free samples at the make-up counter, you can sign up for birthday freebies at your favorite restaurants or retails or you can join a freebie website, such as FreeFlys.

2-    Skip buying textbooks

Textbooks are a pretty simple way of draining your money. There is a way to save money on textbooks and it is pretty creative: read your texts in the campus bookstore.
If you don’t have time to hang in the campus bookstore, you might also want to try one of these options:
-buy used textbooks online
-use digital versions, they are usually cheaper than printed versions.
-rent textbooks on Amazon or another book rental site.
-Share textbooks with another classmate and split the cost.

3-    Split rent

Communal living is a great way to save money in college. If you pair with one or two persons and you all rent a room together, each of you will save a considerable amount of money.

4-    Take extra credits and graduate early

If you cut the length of your tuition, you might save money. If you are still studying, check if graduating early is a viable option. Check with your finance office to find out how many hours you can take each semester and do your math to see if this will translate into saving money.

Saving money in college is usually a struggle, but there´s always a little something extra you can do to improve the situation.
