Did you know you could use your Android phone or tablet as a credit or debit card? Follow these tips, start using your Android as a credit card and leave all of your cards at home the next time you go shopping!
Technology improves day by day and it's hard to keep updated. Nevertheless, the first thing you need to know is that you can now use your Android as a scannable credit or debit card! If you tend to forget your cards at home or you just want to simplify the purchase process, you need to learn how to do this.
Follow these steps and start using your phone or tablet to pay:
1. Download Android Pay
If your phone or tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat or higher, then you will be able to download Android Play.
The steps you should follow are the same you make when you download any app: Go to Google Play Store and search for Android Pay. Once you've found it and press "Install", you will proceed to download it.
Then, you will need to add your credit or debit card. So, open the Android Pay app and tap "Add a credit or debit card." This will open a camera screen with a square in the middle of it to scan your card.
Those who find it hard to scan it should tap "Add manually" to fill in the card details by hand. Make sure your card has been scanned or entered correctly before you save it!
2. Pay with the app
Before you make the purchase, check if the store counts with the tap-to-pay option. Not every card reader supports Android Pay! When you are ready, you will place your Android phone or tablet near the card reader. If you need any help, just ask the clerk.
Remember that if the total amount to pay is over $100 you will have to enter your Android PIN or unlock pattern to continue with the purchase. Once the card reader confirms your payment, you will receive the record of the transaction in your Gmail and you will be ready to go!
