For months the food chains modified their menus to accommodate the increase in-home delivery, takeaways, and drive-thru orders. As things slowly try to return to normal, new products are being launched to win back customers with new tasty meals. When can you get a free fish sandwich at Popeyes’?
While many fast-food chains are introducing new and improved fried chicken sandwiches to catch up with Popeyes, other companies are focusing on other parts of their menu.
Smashburger, for example, is sticking with its February classic, the Beer-Battered Pacific Cod Sandwich, and the best part is that, probably, to make you choose their fish sandwich over Popeyes’ new Cajun Flounder Sandwich, it's giving you a chance to grab one for free.
With the limited-time launch of the Cajun Flounder Sandwich, Popeyes is now among the many fast-food chains trying to capitalize on the increased demand for seafood during Lent, when Catholics abstain from eating meat, and Smashburger doesn’t want to lose its usual March customers.
“Back by popular demand! BOGO Fish Sandwich Wednesday (2/17) and every Friday through 4/2/21,” says Smashburger’s website.
So, starting on February 26, Smashburger will be offering a BOGO free deal every Friday through April 4 that will get you two fish sandwiches for as little as $8.
In case you have never tried it, the Smashburger cod is dipped into a batter infused with Yuengling Lager before getting covered in melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce.
If during lent you are not planning to eat a fried chicken sandwich or meat hamburgers, a fried fish sandwich is the next best thing, so remember to run over to your local Smashburger store and take advantage of this chance to treat yourself without breaking your budget.
