As a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, many restaurant chains, last year, announced simplified menus to help streamline service with fewer workers. After bringing back potato filled items in March, what item is Taco Bell bringing back to its menu for $1?
When Taco Bell, last year, removed around 20 items from its menu, including the Mexican Pizza and its potatoes, many regular customers of the Mexican food restaurants lamented the loss of some of their favorite dishes.
After a few months, the chain succumbed to popular demand to bring potatoes back and potato-filled menu items returned to menus on March 11.
This week the Mexican inspired restaurant announced that it is bringing back another fan-favorite: the Beefy Potato-rito.
“The best way to celebrate potatoes being back? Bringing ANOTHER favorite back: the $1 Beefy Potato-rito is here again. Taco Bell Rewards members get early access to the $1 Beefy Potato-rito. Sign up today,” says a post on the chain’s Instagram account.
In addition to the chain's lineup of potato-filled menu items that came back in March, the Beefy Potato-rito is rejoining the menu on April 15 and they will cost only $1.
The burrito features crispy potato bites, seasoned beef, nacho cheese, and creamy Chipotle sauce all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
"The return of our beloved potatoes is just the first step in showing our fans the strong continued commitment to vegetarian we are making this year," Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer Liz Matthews said in a press release.
"We have long been a leader in the vegetarian space, but this year, we have more meatless options in store that vegetarians, veggie-curious and even meat-eaters will love," she added.
