In an uncertain context, in which the news that determines the future of Americans changes daily, Jack in the Box made an announcement that changes the menu of the fast-food restaurant chain.
What started a while ago being something revolutionary, has already become a trend and there are several restaurant chains that have incorporated vegan food into their menu.
Though most of the menu items you'll find at these chains are Beyond Burgers or Impossible Burgers, Jack in the Box is going in a different direction with its first-ever plant-based sandwich.
According to Thrillist, On October 15, Jack in the Box is added the Unchicken Sandwich to the menu, which is a classic chicken sandwich, less the chicken.
The sandwich features a plant-based chicken substitute from Raised and Rooted that has a little spice in the breading and is stacked with lettuce, tomato, and mayo under a split-top bun.
For the time being, you're only going to find the sandwich in Reno, Nevada, and Monterey, California and the company hasn’t said if it is going to expand availability.
Taking into account that more and more people consume this type of product, it should come as no surprise if this sandwich is included in the menus of other branches.
