The agitated breathing of a desperate Leonardo DiCaprio and trying to regain courage while looking in a bathroom mirror, is the first thing that the trailer for "Don't Look Up" shows us.

"Your breathing is stressing me out," responds a Jonah Hill in an office that gives the impression of being the White House, after a fleeting tour of images that show us his characters, as well as apparently key scenes but without their context.

"This will affect the entire planet," the DiCaprio character tries to explain until towards the end of the preview the president, played by Meryl Streep, discredits the visit: "Do you know how many doomsday meetings we've had?"

DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence are two astronomers who discover that a meteorite is approaching and will destroy the Earth. With this information, how will you try to prevent humanity from catastrophe? with a giant press move and trying to get around the obstacles in between.

This is what the new film by Adam McKay is about, awarded the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for his film "The Great Bet" (2015), and director of other titles such as "The Vice President" and "Hermanastros". A satire on the climatic problems that plague the world. Genre that characterizes the director's cinema, as we saw in his previous films.

Di Caprio and Lawrence

Precisely a subject that DiCaprio is deeply interested in. Through his social networks, the Academy Award winner seeks to raise awareness about environmental issues, but also produced the documentaries "The 11th Hour" and "Before the Flood" on global warming.

Along with the trailer, the first official images were released that show us another of the highlights of the film, its cast. Accompanying those already mentioned: Cate Blanchett ("Carol", "The curious case of Benjamin Button"), Timotheé Chalamet ("Little Women", "Call me by your name"), the singer Ariana Grande, Matthew Perry ("Friends" , "17 Again"), musician Kid Cudi, Tomer Sisley ("Largo Winch") and more.

"Don't Look Up" will arrive on Netflix on December 24, although it could have a previous release in theaters depending on the countries on the 10th of the same month and in enabled theaters.
